This is where the lessons begin and where you will live for the next few months. After graduation some will be asked to remain living at the academy and teach the recruits the ways of the trade. It also keeps the army in one place so that when they are called to service they can move quickly instead of having to round up the troops.

Soldier 5388 stood very still at the position of attention. Head and eyes froward, body standing stiff, knees bent, heels touching and toes pointed out 45 degrees. If he was looking at himself as he was now he would think that he was staring off into space. But he had heard every word the general had made. Eager as he was to learn and willing as he was to do anything asked of him, in the back of his mind he was hoping that he would not be called on to stay at the academy to teach. He did not join to become a teacher. But he knew that if he was to be tought the military skills that he would have to teach those to other soldier whether he was at the academy or not. But he would rather teach close to the battle field then at any academy.
